Buffalo Wild Wings pulls Steve Rannazzisi commercials after he admits lying
Buffalo Wild Wings will stop airing commercials featuring Steve Rannazzisi, star of the popular television show “The League“, after the actor admitted to lying for years about escaping death during the September 11, 2001 attacks.

In a statement on Thursday, the Minneapolis company said: “Upon careful review, we have chose to discontinue airing our current television commercials featuring Steve Rannazzisi“.
The Associated Press reports a representative for Rannazzisi, Matthew Labov, said the actor had no comment following Buffalo Wild Wings’ decision.
The veracity of his claims was questioned by The New York Times earlier this week, and it was discovered that Rannazzisi had not worked for Merrill Lynch and that the firm had no offices in the World Trade Center in 2001.
“As a young man, I made a mistake that I deeply regret and for which apologies may still not be enough”, another of his tweets said.
As part of his admission on Wednesday, Rannazzisi acknowledged that he was not actually even in the World Trade Centre on 9/11.
For another, Rannazzisi is now in the spotlight for the seventh and final season of FX’s The League as well as a special on Comedy Central, set to air this Saturday.
In a 2011 interview, Rannazzisi said he had received a good severance package from Merrill Lynch.
He also told Maron that he was inside the building when the plane hit and he and his co-workers were “jostled all over the place”. “That was inexcusable. I am truly, truly sorry”. “How could I tell my children to be honest when I hadn’t come clean about this?”

Rannazzisi had been featured in Buffalo Wild Wings’ recent advertising campaigns because his involvement in the fantasy football-related comedy show seemed like a good fit for the restaurant chain’s “wings, beer, sports” slogan.
