The parents of more than two dozen Florida elementary students are breathing a sigh of relief-and some are drying off-after a terrifying school bus accident yesterday in Tampa, Fla.

The good news is rescue workers have accounted for all the kids on board and no injuries are reported.

A school bus crashes into a lake in Hillsborough County near Tampa.

The bus took down a signpost and part of a tree before flipping on its side in the water on Thursday in Hillsborough County, located outside of Tampa, authorities said. Sheriff’s deputies are investigating.

The name of the bus driver has not yet been released, but we do know he is in his 50’s and has previous bus driving experience. The bus will be thoroughly examined for mechanical problems, and the driver will be checked out for any medical issues, the spokeswoman adds.

Officials say it happened at Kingsmills Place and Nine Eagles Drive.

Though it is not officially known what went wrong with the bus yet, Sierra said the brakes weren’t working.

The bus itself is also under investigation. “I think we’re going to give him a homework pass for the night”.
