Several San Diego high schools received threats today (Thursday, September 17) – of either a suspicious device or shooter on campus – and were placed on lockdown, including La Jolla High School. During the search by Chula Vista police, District spokesman Manny Rubio announced that students were told to stay in their classrooms and that access to the campus was limited.

Kroemer said two schools police officers were sent to each campus.
San Diego police checked out the threats and found nothing that posed any danger to students or staff and lifted the lockdowns.
Authorities have said that no students are hurt, and no shooters or explosives have been found. The police are still in the midst of investigating the calls and have still not lifted the lockdowns on the schools.
This was followed by more calls threatening a bomb to Scripps Ranch, Patrick Henry, San Diego, Crawford, Clairemont, Kearny, Morse, and Mira Mesa, according to The San Diego Union-Tribune. In the Sweetwater Union High School District only one known threat was made and that was at San Ysidro High.
“There could be a shooting and someone with bombs”, she said.
Parents at Serra High received a voice message from the school stating the campus on in “heightened security”. “It’s certainly disruptive of the school day so, we’re very sympathetic with families concerned about the kids”, said Ursula Kroemer, spokesperson for the San Diego Unified School District. As of this report there have been no incidents or reported injuries.

That school was then put on lockdown. Parents are not being allowed on campus and students will resume classes when the threat passes, Kroemer said. All students were said to be safe.
