“The Emmys are a top tier show in terms of exposure and degree of difficulty”, Samberg said in a conference call on Monday. In 2004, he won a Golden Globe for his portrayal as Jake Peralta on his Fox comedy.
“We have really amusing presenters this year”.
Making sure the show keeps moving at a brisk pace has been the biggest challenge, Samberg said.
Well, I’ve been talking to Seth [Meyers], who hosted previous year .
“Yeah, I spoke with Seth”. He just said it was a blast. But also, as soon as I left the stage, I was kind of like – ‘What the hell just happened? “I’m just going to not look this year and assume that it went great”.
An Emmy victor already for his music and lyrics from the “SNL” sketch “Dick in a Box”, Samberg received another nomination this year for his part in helping to write the “Saturday Night Live: 40th Anniversary Special”. “Kimmel, Fallon. I think everybody recently has really done a good job with it. So I’ve watched a lot of theirs” and seen what’s worked.
Cast your predictions for the 67th Primetime Emmy Awards, to be broadcast live Sunday, September 20, on Fox. “Half of the audience is people sitting there who just didn’t win an award so you don’t want to overstay your welcome”.
How old were you when you started paying attention to the Emmy awards? Probably like college. I mean, my folks weren’t like huge Emmy watchers.
Is it more nerve-racking than other gigs?
Be that as it may, is it worth wading during three time of boggy TV to discover those answers when you can get the highlights by tapping on the Register’s site or grabbing Monday’s paper? When finished, print out your finished ballot or check back on Emmy night to see how you did. David Letterman took some blows for doing the Oscars his way in 1995. I like things a little weirder than maybe the broadest version of the show, from a hosting perspective. Working for Empire. You know, the carpet company. “And I talked to Amy Poehler about it but her advice has been mainly in regards to the after party”, he said, laughing. That’s always my barometer.
Are there any musical numbers that you’re going to participate in?
It’s more or less on script, I think we’ll try and play the room as it comes.
Is it exciting to do those in-the-moment jokes? From there, you can select “Next category” to keep voting.
What’s the thrill of live television for you?
I really hope so.
“Yeah, right now I am”, Andy told Access Hollywood. [But] you know, I have one, so I feel pretty good about it. I’m holding out that they’ll give me like an honorary one for hosting.

“We’ve got a silly crew”, said Samberg. But he will bring his patented brand of Bill Hader humor.
