The Red Sox pitching staf has an ERA of 4.43 with the starters at 4.47 and bullpen at 4.35. 7-9 and will be a factor in the division race with these three against the Blue Jays and four at New York bridging September and October.
Once the two-game set against Toronto is over, the Red Sox will head straight down to Cleveland to kick off the 2016 regular season against the Indians.
The exhibition games are aimed at paving the way for a return of a major league team to Montreal.
“We’re very grateful to Montreal for Pedro Martinez and now president of baseball operations Dave Dombrowski”, Kennedy said.
Beeston and Blue Jays GM Alex Anthopoulos – a Montreal native – are both in favour of bringing big-league ball back to the city, where a team would be a natural rival for Toronto. The Expos left Montreal back in 2004 and became the Washington Nationals, but Coderre is confident there is a robust market for the sport in his city – the ninth-largest in North America.
