After a ton of speculation, Game of Thrones has reportedly cast the entire Tarly family for season 6 including Sam’s father Randyll Tarly….

The new cast members join newcomer Freddie Stroma, who signed on as Sam’s brother Dickon Tarly.
Well the mystery surrounding Ian McShane’s character continues because a role that he seemed ideal for on Game of Thrones season 6 has now been cast with a different actor.
According to Watchers on the Wall,Downton Abbey actor James Faulkner will play Sam’s “humourless and intimidating” father.
The casting call describes Randyll as “humorless martinet, severe and intimidating”.
Then, which reason forced Sam to return back to his home, Gilly?
Spiro will portray Sam’s mother, Melessa Florent.
On this past season of Downton Abbey, Faulkner played Rose’s father-in-law, whose disapproving tune changed once a skeleton in his closet surfaced. Sam, in a conversation with Jon Snow, revealed that his father hates him because of his fat figure. He also appeared in “X-Men: First Class” and had worked in several video games such as “Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince” and “Dragon Age: Inquisition”.

Spiro is set to appear as Detective Taylor on the British drama series “London Spy” this fall. Based on the source material, Sam has three sisters; among these siblings, only the eldest sister has been named- Talla Tarly.
