Jeremy Corbyn Says Labour Won’t Campaign for EU Exit

Speaking to the Treasury Select Committee, Mark Carney said that the new Labour leader’s economic policies would “hurt” the poor and elderly in the United Kingdom and increase inflation above necessary levels.
Telling MPs that he wanted to make PMQs “less theatrical” and more in touch with public concerns, he asked six questions on housing, tax credits and mental health which he said had been suggested to him by members of the public.
The veteran socialist MP was elected Labour leader last week, sparking fears that he might reverse his party’s pro-European policy.
Cameron also criticized the opposition for its examination of unilateral nuclear disarmament, in what was Jeremy Corbyn’s first appearance at the session as new Labour leader.
“Jeremy’s election has been a massive boost to the Labour Party, as it has seen thousands of new members sign up and get involved”.
Corbyn, he said, “may be considering afresh some of his views now that he’s in such a senior and responsible position”.
Mr Corbyn thanked the PM for his commitment to answering questions “in a more adult way than it’s been done in the past”. “He won overwhelmingly and he has a mandate”, he told BBC Radio 4’s Today programme.
Mr Corbyn’s spokesman said: “Labour’s frontbench is inclusive across the party”.
“Frankly in the next couple of days he needs to set out with greater clarity what he exactly wants to achieve and how we are going to do it. He has not done that yet…”
