YouTube Gaming will soon let you stream from your Android phone
YouTube has announced the possibility of streaming Android games to the video sharing service, which is about to be a reality “soon”. Furthermore, users will also have the ability to record and upload game play clips to YouTube from Google Play Games. “Numerous other, specialised streaming services are emerging, some of which focus entirely on mobile, so without some measure of response aimed at this device category, YouTube risks being side-lined as a latecomer”. Its competition, the Amazon-owned Twitch has built up a strong fan following from the hardcore console and PC gamers over the years.

With the rising popularity of mobile games in Japan, YouTube is looking to capitalise on it by providing a way for gamers to live stream their sessions directly to its service. Users will also be able to include video from the smartphone’s selfie cam and audio from the microphone in their livestream.
Unfortunately, Wyatt did not provide information on when we could expect Android game livestreaming to roll out to mobile devices. During the announcement he confirmed that Japan will be the first country to receive this new feature via the YouTube Gaming app.
But this is not all, your Android phone will be able to stream live video games to YouTube.

According to YouTube’s global gaming head Ryan Wyatt, “Japan’s mobile games define its gaming culture, far more so than in other countries”. It faces quite a battle to overthrow it, but focusing on mobile is one way of making YouTube Gaming stand out.
