You can check out the release date trailer just below. He also compared the game’s size to the 2014 build. Two years ago, The Witness consisted of 38,387 asset files. When asked about VR support by one fan concerned that it wouldn’t be included, Blow noted (over a series of tweets that have been combined): “That’s not really a good assumption”. It is often cited as the precursor to the current age of thoughtful and alternative games made by independent development teams. The Braid maker also talked about secretly putting the game in a booth at PAX to get a feel for how people would respond.

So Blow has spent the better part of the last decade working on The Witness.

Then again, so little information is available about this latest game, I wouldn’t be surprised if it takes an entirely different approach to story, let alone emotional roundhouses. Originally meant to launch on PC and PlayStation 4 during the launch video of the console, the game has seen a number of delays. You’ll wander a unusual , stylised island solving puzzles and progressing towards the cetnre of the island and that elusive mountain. It’s an open-world game and players are bound to get stuck at some point.

But that’s just my guess, and I’m looking forward to finding out if I am right.
