Arnold Schwarzenegger is the next host of NBC’s ‘Celebrity Apprentice’

NBC will air CELEBRITY APPRENTICE with Arnold Schwarzenegger, sometime in 2016. “I am thrilled to bring my experience to the boardroom and to continue to raise millions for charity”.

“Arnold Schwarzenegger is the epitome of a global brand in entertainment and business, and his accomplishments in the political arena speak for themselves”, said Paul Telegdy, president of NBC’s alternative and late-night programming.

Since replacing Donald Trump, fans have been more than enthusiastic about Schwarzenegger’s new gig.

The former California governor is a world-famous movie star, known for films like the “Terminator” series, which generated his catch-phrases like “I’ll be back” and “Hasta la vista, baby”.

Like many who heard that the actor would be taking on the role of reality show business mogul, Schwarzenegger is interested in perhaps adapting one of his famous movie quotes into a sendoff to those that he deems unworthy of the title of “Apprentice“. The show premieres September 22 on Fox. Though Trump originally left the show to pursue the commander-in-chief post, NBC later cut all ties with the billionaire due to what the channel called “derogatory statements” made by Trump about immigrants.

NBC “fired” Trump in July, after his June presidential announcement included inflammatory rhetoric about Mexico and Mexicans. Then, last week, Trump announced he had bought NBC’s 50% stake in Miss Universe and settled all their legal issues.

The big question was, who would the Peacock Network hire to replace The Donald on “The Celebrity Apprentice”?

The programme is a variation of The Apprentice, and tests celebrities’ business acumen to raise money for charity. They have to face grueling deadlines, long hours, intense scrutiny, intellectual challenges and are accounted for their actions or they will be “fired” by the host. NBC described him as having a “personal passion for the format” which helped producer Mark Burnett pick him.
