Rogers County Resident Latest West Nile Virus Death

A Boston male resident in his 40s was recently confirmed as a West Nile Virus case and has recovered.

“Bottom line, we’re still in West Nile virus season as long as our temperatures remain warm”, Woods said.

He believes although the virus has not been reported in Boone County since 2007, that it will never disappear. The man’s name was not released, but officials said the victim was an older adult.

The Southern Nevada Health District is reporting a case of West Nile virus in a male over the age of 50 who has the more serious neuroinvasive form of the illness.

As for mosquito samples that have tested positive this year for the virus, there have been 56 positive mosquito samples in Nassau, and, as of last Friday, 158 in Suffolk.
