The number: 2. Times the Huskies have faced the nation’s top-ranked team, falling 35-12 to Ohio State in 2006 and losing 34-0 to Miami in 1986. In receiving, Kenny Gollady had 144 yards and two touchdowns in eight receptions.

On Thursday, Cleveland.com posted a photo and story about Ohio State’s 2014 national championship trophy, which lists the opponents, locations and the game scores of a season that ended with the Buckeyes winning the first college football playoff in Division-I.

Jack Willoughby kicked a 31-yard field goal to cut the deficit to 7-3. Neither played particularly well in the shutout win that saw the defense upstage the offense in the Buckeyes’ 15th consecutive victory.

He is 50-of-78 passing for 718 yards, with six touchdowns and no interceptions. He’s obviously got a cannon for an arm, but he’s also good at fitting the ball into tight spots.

Braxton Miller, senior, H-back – During his days at quarterback, Miller was a two-time Big Ten Offensive Player of the Year.

Meyer said he refused to allow his players to get down after a victory, but it was apparent the Buckeyes can use the sluggish outing as a teachable moment.
