Sriram to be part of Australia coaching staff in Bangladesh
Sriram had been a consultant for Australia “A” when it toured India in July-August this year, winning the two-Test unofficial series in Chennai 1-0.

Former Australia cricket captain Michael Clarke believes Steve Smith’s batting won’t be affected by his elevation to the top job, insisting he’d been handed the reins at the best possible time.
“For me it’s about being adaptable wherever we play”. “In Australia you could be a little bit extra attacking”.
According to Clarke, Smith is smart enough to manage both captaincy and his batting, adding that he hopes Australia would claim a series win over Bangladesh. Khawaja has played nine Tests, the last of which was in the 2013 Ashes, and is making a comeback from a severe knee injury he suffered in December 2014.
Australia must stifle their attacking instincts in the subcontinent and “bore” batsmen into giving up their wickets, captain Steven Smith has said.
“He’s got another opportunity, he’s worked really hard to get back”, Smith said.
“He’s had a tough time of it with his knee, but he’s back in the squad now and I’m looking forward to seeing what he brings”. “I haven’t seen Fekete bowl for a while, he said”.
With the selectors opting to give rest fast bowlers Mitchell Johnson and Josh Hazlewood, Peter Siddle and left-armer Mitchell Starc to lead the attack. Sriram, who has also worked with the Tamil Nadu juniors and the Delhi Daredevils side, will join the Australian team in Dhaka ahead of their first practice game.
Sriram mingled with the likes of skipper Usman Khawaja, Joe Burns and Cameron Bancroft during his involvement with the A squad and with the trio being selected for the trip to Bangladesh, the Australian cricket authorities are of the opinion that Sriram’s familiarity with the squad’s newcomers as well as his long experience of playing in the subcontinent where the majority of the pitches are spin friendly, will come in handy.
“A massive a part of my recreation, particularly in Australian circumstances, has been reverse swing”, Siddle informed reporters.
“That does benefit me a lot over there, and what I normally do is what I’ll do over there”.
