Amanda Seyfried heading to Twin Peaks

The Twin Peaks revival might not feature Laura Palmer, but another lovely , murdered high school girl has signed on in the form of Amanda Seyfried. Details about her role are now shrouded in appropriate mystery, but the website speculated on Friday that she could be portraying the daughter of returning star Kyle MacLachlan’s Dale Cooper and his love interest, Annie, played by Heather Graham.

Twin Peaks: Fire Walk With Me, a prequel film made after the original series went off the air, centered on Laura, while the Veronica Mars movie featured only passing references to the Lily Kane murder. As previously reported on AccessHollywood.com, original co-creator David Lynch briefly departed the project in April over a salary dispute, but recommitted in May.

Filming on Twin Peaks began earlier this month but very little is known about who will be starring and what the plot will be.

According to TVLine, Seyfried plays an important and pivotal new character and is set to appear in multiple episodes of the present-day continuation of the ’90s cult classic television series by David Lynch and Mark Frost.

The new season is said to be hopefully hitting screens in 2016, and is going to be an actual sequel of the story – not a remake. Who are the other characters that you want to see return on the show?
