Disney gives peek of latest ‘Jungle Book’ film

Mowgli, the man-cub, is played by newcomer Neel Sethi, who was cast after an global search.

Filming is still underway on The Jungle Book and is just the latest in a series of Disney movies that have been given a live-action makeover.

Jon Favreau is directing from a script penned by Justin Marks.

A 3D adjustment of Rudyard Kipling’s exemplary enterprise, the motion picture will mix no frills and execution with Rohan Chand assuming the part of Mowgli, the kid who is raised by wolves.

This is also one of two The Jungle Book movies as Andy Serkis is set to put his stamp on this well-known tale as he makes his feature film directorial debut.

Starring the voices of Bill Murray, Scarlett Johannson, Idris Elba, Ben Kingsley, Lupita Nyong’o and Christopher Walken, there’s no doubt this is a big budget production and it’s sure to look stunning. Jon talked about bringing the classic animated film to life.

The 10-year-old actor said that he and Mowgli are alike in many ways. “Anim reference was drawn from performances and mocap of actors”.

Disney has a release date for the film, set for April 16, 2016.
