The Albermarle Sheriff’s Office said an Albemarle County Grand Jury returned two Indictments against Jesse Leroy Matthew, Jr.in connection with the October 17, 2009 disappearance and death of Morgan Dana Harrington.

Yesterday, the Albemarle County Commonwealth’s Attorney charged Matthew with first degree murder and abduction with the intent to defile Harrington.
Matthew was convicted this summer of attempted capital murder, abduction and sexual assault in a 2005 case involving a woman in Fairfax City.
He is also accused of kidnapping and killing University of Virginia student Hannah Graham after she went missing in September 2014.
In June, Matthew was indicted sexually striking and endeavoring to execute a lady in Fairfax County. He is scheduled to be sentenced for those offenses October . 2.
Gil received the news Tuesday afternoon and while it is a step in the right direction, she admitted and acknowledged her family has a very a long road ahead of them.
On September 13, 2014, University of Virginia sophomore Hannah Graham was seen on video surveillance cameras walking with Matthew in downtown Charlottesville.
“My path is to find justice for Morgan”, Gil Harrington said. “So she may have found someone who was loving and trusting and comfort her”, Carter said.
Her remains were discovered on a nearby farm in January 2010.
Matthew’s DNA was found on the black “Pantera” shirt Morgan Harrington wore the night she disappeared, according to a search warrant obtained by CBS 6 reporter Laura French. In the news release, authorities said they will not comment on the evidence or what punishment they may seek for Matthew. How can you celebrate the fact that your daughter was murdered by someone? He has been charged with capital murder in her death and is eligible for the death penalty.
Matthew will spend the next few months in and out of court for multiple cases.

Gil and her husband, Dan Harrington, are attending the Wednesday arraignment in Albemarle County Circuit Court. “The only thing I could see him maybe trying to give the girl a ride or help her out”.
