It was moving north-northwest at near 8 miles per hour (13 kph), and expected to continue moving in that direction through Thursday.

Typically, September is the month that brings the most named storms during any given hurricane season. The NHC says some slow development of this system is possible during the next couple of days while it moves little.
Tropical Depression Nine struggled along far out in the Atlantic on Thursday morning while another tropical disturbance emerged closer to home.
“This system has steadily become better organized”, AccuWeather Senior Meteorologist Dan Kottlowski said in an advisory.
All evidence points to the depression weakening to a remnant in the next few days as increased westerly wind shear works its magic to disrupt the storm’s organization.
Strong winds in the path of the system will limit development and could lead to its demise before the end of the week, Kottlowski stated. It appears that this system will move northeast across Florida by the weekend.
Forecasters said environmental conditions seemed to favor 95L developing into a tropical depression and put the chances of that happening over the next five days at 80 percent.

A tropical wave has also emerged off the west coast of Africa several hundred miles southeast of the Cape Verde Islands.
