Blairmore is the main centre in the Crowsnest Pass, a scenic mountain region in southwest Alberta with a smattering of towns, villages and hamlets that comprise a total population of around 5,000. An Amber Alert was issued for Hailey Dunbar-Blanchette after her father was found murdered on Monday. “They would be very happy to have equipment, it’s very expensive so that’s our goal”. Tony Hamori informed a quick information convention late Tuesday night time.
CBC reports that a 22-year-old Alberta man has been taken into custody and charged with two counts of first degree murder in the deaths of Terry Blanchette and Hailey Dunbar-Blanchette.
“Because it is a small community like Drumheller would be, we would be out in the community to help the public”.
Blanchette was described by friends and family as a devoted single father who shared custody of Hailey with his former girlfriend, Cheyenne Dunbar, who lives in Edmonton. Saretzky will appear in court on September 23rd.
But despite the firestorm of activity online, the outcome of Hailey’s disappearance was tragic.
“She loved that park”, family friend Tammy Tracey said.
“He was taking excellent care of her. There was all the time laughing and guffawing happening over there”.
Candles and stuffed animals coated a picnic desk by a playground simply across the nook from the house the place Hailey had lived.
Roxanne Michalski, who helped organize the vigil, said the situation was simply unthinkable.
“It’s been a tough week for everybody on our team and we know how tough it’s been for the community and certainly how everyone has been feeling this profound sense of loss for this handsome little girl”, said Amanda Pick, CEO of Missing Children Society of Canada.
The news also swept across social media, prompting an outpouring of sadness from across the country.
