‘Jeopardy’ contestant pulls prank on host Alex Trebek

We’re not sure what her mom thought about that answer, but it didn’t appear that Trebek thought it was as amusing as fans did. What to do with that situation?

A contestant on Wednesday’s episode of Jeopardy brought the game show’s Saturday Night Live spoof to life.

As you can see in the video above, one contestant (and obvious comedy fan) decided to use Final Jeopardy to force Trebek to participate in a reference to that SNL bit. Trebek said, reading Talia’s answer, to the delight of Talia and the crowd. Though Lavin didn’t come equipped with MacDonald’s token yellow hat, she brought Turd Ferguson to actual Jeopardy!

“What is the ballad of Turd Ferguson?” she wrote, which was subsequently read aloud by Trebek, to peals of laughter from the audience.

In a 1999 sketch, Burt switches his name to “Turd Ferguson” just to tick off Trebek halfway through the game. In the skit, Burt calls himself “Turd Ferguson” because he says, “it’s an amusing name”.

In case you were wondering, the correct answer is the song “Blame Canada” from the movie “South Park: Bigger, Longer and Uncut“.
