Sure, the Badgers’ offensive line made another step towards a return to their formerly known status as fifth grade playground bullies.

Williams led a big performance for the home team.

Troy quarterback Brandon Silvers completed 23-of-34 passes for 174 yards, and was sacked twice.

“Understand that the refs are going to make some calls”.

Coach Paul Chryst debuted “Two-Way Tanner” last week to smashing results. Some did, but most remained in their seats, prepared to pounce for the exits. The Trojans responded on their next drive with a field goal. The Wisconsin Badgers were going to make the run a priority. Dare Ogunbowale ran 14 times for 75 yards and a score.

“I wanted to show them that I can do it”, Kapoi said. The first went for a nine yard gain, which he followed up with the afternoon’s dagger.

“There’s too much gray area”, Leach said.

With two key defensive contributors missing due to ejections, the unit didn’t miss a beat. For the Badgers, that’s great news as the Trojans allow more than 250 yards on the ground per game.

“It was nice to get out there and work with the first group, just to get a feeling for communicating with those guys”, said Maxwell, who learned Tuesday he would get more work. “But I’m glad it worked out the way it did”. I think he played well.

Chryst also took notice of the linebacker’s contributions. “It all starts with stopping the run”. Last week, it was alternating.

He lined up in shotgun twice and had runs of 9 and 32 yards, the second a touchdown to help UW take a 21-3 lead.

Senior linebacker KellenJones, a graduate transfer from Clemson, has left the program.

Safety Michael Caputo recovered the ball. Wisconsin scored on the ensuing drive, with McEvoy’s touchdown increasing the lead to 21-3.

“When Chris came in, he just started making plays right away”, outside linebacker Joe Schobert said. Wisconsin lost inside linebacker Leon Jacobs in the first quarter and cornerback Derrick Tindal late in the third.

According to oddsmakers from online sports book Mybookie.ag, the Badgers are 35-point home favorites versus the Trojans after opening with odds of -35.5 to win.

Wisconsin is 14th in the conference, averaging a paltry 114 yards a game. “We haven’t had him very involved in the throw game, but he is still able to give us something offensively, and certainly did defensively”.

On the drive, Wisconsin marched 90 yards in 2:38, gaining 105 yards of total offense due to a 15-yard penalty.

MINNESOTA 10, KENT STATE 7 (at Minneapolis) – Mitch Leidner and Minnesota survived another shaky showing by the offense, using a second-quarter touchdown pass to K.J. Maye to eke out a win. This is the best game we’ve played offensively of the three games. Redshirt freshman Jacob Maxwell saw action at right tackle alongside starter Hayden Biegel. Luckily for him, and Wisconsin, Love was there to jump on the ball. The Trojans’ long run was 11 yards.
