The Coast Guard also tipped their hat to the Good Samaritans.

Names of those on board and further details on the vessel weren’t immediately released.

A Texas family out for a day of pleasure boating was saved by two Good Samaritans this weekend after their yacht was engulfed in flames.

Officials are trying to determine what started the fire.

“I appeared to be screaming, ‘throw kids, toss your kid!'” Michael Marquez remembered Saturday evening’s traumatic help off the beach of Galveston to actually KHOU.

“They finally got the kid in the water and the mom jumped shortly after him”, Marquez said. All four people were wearing life vests when rescued. Watchstanders launched two Station Galveston boat crews, who arrived on scene around 6:45 p.m. and assisted in transporting the four back to Station Galveston. The blaze is believed to have begun in the vessel’s engine room, Nease said.

“They were a little sad and disappointed about the boat but definitely happy that they were rescued and nobody was hurt.”
