Saraki’s Twitter biography also used to have “Member of the APC”, but his followers and several Twitter users noticed that it had been taken off.

He said such moves were a ploy to undermine him. This same Dr. Saraki submitted asset declaration form in 2007, 2011 and 2015.

“For the Code of Conduct Tribunal to wait for 13 years before working on a declaration that was made since 2003 is ridiculous”. This is why we are of the opinion that present effort is a desperate move initiated due to external influence and interference.

As an independent institution equal to any superior court of record, the tribunal is set up by the constitution to determine the issue of default, false declaration or forgery in assets declaration.

He also stated that he never operated any foreign account while he governed Kwara State.

He said, “What is happening is clear to the blind that Senator Bukola Saraki is a victim of political persecution”.

Justice Ahmed Mohammed, in a ruling in his chambers ordered the Federal Ministry of Justice, Chairmen of the Code of Conduct Bureau and Tribunal and M. S Hassan (1st to 4th respondent) to appear before him to show cause why they should not be stopped from arraigning Saraki.

According to him, “we believe he will come out of it. You are presumed innocent until proven otherwise”. This is another case of desperation to fight Dr. Saraki because of his recent stance on national issues, the statement concluded. “So there is nothing wrong about the charge leveled against him by the Code of Conduct Bureau”.

He reiterated President Buhari’s avowed commitment in the fight against corruption no matter whose ox is gored, saying that the President has sworn to protect the constitution.

“The police can get the warrant by 8am on Monday and effect the arrest of the President of the Senate immediately”.

She avoided further comments when pressed to expatiate on the development. “I can not say the allegation was an act of corruption because when a charge is brought before the CCT, it is entitled to fair hearing”.
