Microsoft has released an update for Windows RT, introducing a version of the Start Menu to ARM-powered devices but not much else.

Windows 10 Build 10547 was pushed to Insiders to install on their desktop and tablet devices which they have opted into the Fast Ring distribution channel. We will know more when Microsoft officially announces these new gadgets on October 6. I hope and expect that normal users will receive these changes via less disruptive Windows Updates, and will not be required to perform OS upgrades every quarter (or whatever timeframe).
Thankfully, Microsoft hasn’t totally abandoned owners of its first Surface tablets, as regular software updates have been provided.
For all other users, Windows 10 Mobile is expected with Threshold 2 RTM update in November.
When the lengthy download process is complete, Insiders can explore a few new and improved features in Windows 10 Mobile, including the Insider Hub, mobile hotspot functionality, two-factor authentication for text and phone, an updated Photos app, Quiet Hours/do not disturb, and pinch-and-zoom for Maps.
Or at least a Start menu.
That would essentially allow users to fit the power of a Windows 10 PC into a 5.5-inch handset.
Over the course of the tests, a certain trend developed which showed that Windows 10 offers better performance in every challenge except one when compared to Windows 8.1 even though the differences were very slight.
There’s a preview of the Object RTC application programming interface in Edge in this new Windows 10 build. Object RTC enables real-time audio and video communications in the browser with no need for plug-ins. The latest builds from Threshold 2 include performance optimizations as well as bug fixes, but a report over on WinBeta discusses the Lumia 950 and 950 XL releasing packing Threshold 1 rather than Windows 10 TH2 RTM.
Microsoft will be hosting an event in October in New York, and it is expected that the tech giant will be unveiling a new set of devices for Windows 10.
The free update has been installed almost 100 million times, so it is important if you are a user to see what you are getting into.
Microsoft’s Gabriel Aul had tweeted yesterday that we won’t be seeing any new builds this week as the company tries to avoid “Friday drops”, however, guess what just arrived?

This further solidifies earlier reports indicating the arrival of Surface Pro 4 since a Microsoft surface product has been mentioned. And, as expected, some of the apps themselves have also been updated.
