Bills let emotions get best of them in loss to Patriots
Yeah we’ve got to get better as a team no question, but I have to get better.

But Ryan’s team couldn’t back up all the talk once the whistle blew. It was somewhat of a miracle the Bills even made it a one-score game.
Houston right tackle Jeff Adams was carted off the field in the second quarter after trainers put an air cast on the right leg. Adams was engaged with Carolina defensive end Kony Ealy when his leg gave out and he fell to the ground. The toughest home game left on the schedule is the Cowboys, who don’t come to Buffalo until after Christmas.
Well, we obviously didn’t play very well defensively on the first drive. But the Bills’ effort made it clear that they won’t make the division a cakewalk for the defending champs.
But the Bills, seen by some as a decent play-off contender, gave as good as they got with quarter Tyrod Taylor throwing three touchdown passes as well – more costly were his three interceptions. Even in victory the previous week, the Bills were the most-penalized team in the league. It’s unfortunate. The plan has to be better on defense.
For Belichick and the Patriots, winning against Buffalo has become a habit as Brady improved to a 24-3 all-time record against the Bills on Sunday.
BY THE NUMBERS: Edelman scored twice, tight end Rob Gronkowski also had a TD receiving, while Dion Lewis scored on a 6-yard run for New England. If you remember, Pittsburgh rested key starters and beat Buffalo with backups Tommy Maddox and Willie Parker.
Reminded of his week of words after the loss, Ryan became sarcastic. The opening drive took 10 plays, went 80 yards and took five minutes off the clock.
Unfortunately, the tide started to turn on Buffalo’s next drive, as they also went three-and-out. It didn’t work and the Patriots took advantage. Aided by a 39-yard pass interference penalty, Buffalo scored after a nine yard pass from Taylor to Charles Clay, but Dan Carpenter missed the extra point, and they trailed 21-13. Patriots vs Bills start time is at 1:00 PM ET.
“I don’t think this game is over-hyped or anything we are talented we just pretty much need to get rid of the penalties”, linebacker Nigel Bradham added. They could win a game of effect and shift the balance in the AFC East.
Brady hit Julian Edelman (11 receptions for 97 yards) for his first of two touchdowns to tie the game, 7-7.
Early on it looked as if Ryan had done a successful job in firing up his Bills, who came out and methodically drove the ball down the Patriots’ throats with an impressive 10-play, 80-yard march that whipped an already raucous Ralph Wilson Stadium crowd into a frenzy. Oh, and with all of those pass attempts Sunday, the number of interceptions he threw?
A 50-yard field goal from Gostkowski made it 37-13 just before the end of the third quarter. That’s when the tide turned Buffalo blue.
Chandler Jones gets a gold star.
LOOKING AHEAD: Things won’t get much easier next week when the Bills have to go on the road for the first time to play another AFC East rival, Miami. Dobson snagged 87 yards.
The Patriots 5-foot-8, 195-pound back carried seven times for 40 yards and a touchdown in Sunday’s 40-32 win over the Bills.
The Bills had one final chance to walk the walk.
