Brady threw three touchdowns and combined for 466 yards passing – the second-most of his career and most by any player against Buffalo – in leading the New England Patriots to a 40-32 win on Sunday.

And when it came time to have the last word, Brady shrugged by saying he could have done even better. “I don’t know if I’ve ever thrown it that much”, said Brady, whose 65 pass attempts against San Francisco in 2012 marked the only game in which he’s had more. Being there for my teammates and trying to help my team go 2-0.

Instead, it was an all-too-familiar outcome for the Patriots (2-0), who have beaten their AFC East rivals in 27 of their past 30 meetings.

The Patriots were too busy throwing the ball all over the field, with Tom Brady attempting a whopping 59 passes (and completing 38 of them for 466 yards and three touchdowns).

– Belichick out-coached Ryan, and at least Ryan (now 4-10 against Belichick) had the common sense to admit that right at the top of his post-game press conference.

“This loss is squarely on one man’s shoulders: It’s on my shoulders”, Ryan said. “Sometimes you feel it. It was loud but we practice those type of situations all the time and I feel like our coaches keep us prepared for those type of things”.

Ryan then used a profanity in explaining how poor of a job he did.

Buffalo Bills free safety Aaron Williams (23) tackles New England… The Bills announced later that Williams left the hospital on his own after the precautionary exam. The Patriots grabbed a 21-7 lead early in the second quarter.

Despite trailing 37-13 early in the fourth quarter, the Bills began a rapid rally back into the contest. Two of Taylor’s three interceptions were tipped footballs that were slightly overthrown, but the recipients were TE Charles Clay and WR Sammy Watkins, receivers that are more than capable of making those catches. Rob Gronkowski was his main target as usual, snagging seven passes for 113 yards and a touchdown reception. Rest assured Ryan learned Dion Lewis’ name after seeing him get 138 total yards and scoring a touchdown. “We feel like [that] every week, I don’t care who we play”. For the Buffalo Bills in Week 1, it showed up in an inspired defensive effort that resulted in a 27-14 win over the Indianapolis Colts and a locker room bursting with energy. The Bills got whistled for 14 penalties, many outside the run of play.

The Patriots eventually scored on three consecutive possessions before building a 37-13 lead after Stephen Gostkowski hit a 50-yard field goal in the final minute of the third quarter. Quarterback Tyrod Taylor threw for 195 yards and one touchdown in 14-for-19 passes, and added 41 yards on the ground. The Patriots’ pass rush came out strong Sunday, bringing down Taylor eight times, and they now have 11 sacks on the season. A run by Dion Lewis allowed the Patriots to go up 21-7 against the Bills defense.

Williams’ father said in a tweet later on Sunday that his son had full movement in his extremities. The fans get excited, the players get excited and the coaches are as motivated as they can possibly be during the season when the two teams play.
