Ryan Adams’ 1989 now streaming online

Or at least fans of Adams, Swift or all of the above (*raises hand*) did, a Venn diagram that appears bigger than expected: Adams trended on Twitter on Thursday as the first track from the set, “Bad Blood”, debuted to 100 countries on Apple’s Beats 1 radio.

If you’ve been patiently awaiting all those T. Swift covers, wait no longer: Ryan Adams’s version of 1989 is finally available here.

The pair both got their starts on the alt-country scene and Taylor has previously admitted how much of an influence Ryan has had on her career as a song-writer.

“Cool I’m not gonna be able to sleep tonight or ever again, and I’m going to celebrate today every year as a holiday”, Swift reacted back in August upon hearing the news of the Adams cover as cited news.com.au.

The album was released in full at midnight Eastern time on iTunes and, interestingly enough, Spotify – the same streaming service Swift has very publicly battled since her 1989 was released past year .

“So @TheRyanAdams remake of @taylorswift13’s 1989 is giving me “The Breakfast Club/Sixteen Candles” vibes and I’M SO INTO IT”, Jake Updegraff noted.

A physical CD release has yet to be announced. He knows how the story ends, though, which adds a darkness and forlorn quality to the pop songs of Swift. However, their fan bases are quite opposite to each other. People were anxious that Adams would never release the cover album.
