The bullet-riddled body of Hizb-ul-Mujahideen militant, Fayaz Ahmed, was found in Tangmarg region of Jammu and Kashmir on Saturday morning, police said.

Spokesman of the outfit told local news gathering agency CNS that Fayaz Bhat was on a “mission” when Indian army fired upon him.
“A body was recovered in a jungle in Devbug Tangmarg in Baramulla district”.
The Operational Spokesperson added, “Fayaz Ahmed Bhat was an active militant and was in the field from past six years”.
Reports said that people were unwilling to handover the body to the police who had rushed to the spot. The protesters clashed with police and attacked the deployment with stones, prompting police to burst tear gas shells. Anti-India and pro-freedom slogans erupted during Fayaz’s funeral in his village, with reportedly two thousand people in attendance.
While police said the three youth had been killed because of internecine rivalry between the Hizbul Mujaihdeen and its breakaway faction, the Lashkar-e-Islam, Hizbul supreme commander Syed Sallahuddin had, however, said there was no militant outfit known as the Lashkar-e-Islam.
Police has sent his body for post-mortem to a hospital in Tangmarg.

Kunzer, Pattan and other adjacent areas observed a shutdown in protest against the killing.
