Flag meeting between Pakistan and India will be held today (Monday) in Chakan-da-Bagh crossing point in Poonch district of Jammu and Kashmir.

Ceasefire violations have escalated in the last few weeks, resulting in civilian casualties and collateral damage on both sides.

The incidents of unprovoked firing continue along the LoC despite an agreement between the border forces of Pakistan and India to restore ceasefire along the working boundary.

During the meeting, both sides have mutually agreed to exercise restrain and take steps to defuse the tense situation along the border.

“The field commanders discussed a host of issues including the ongoing ceasefire violations, targeting of civilian areas and sniper actions on the LoC”, Indian army’s northern command spokesman Colonel S.D.Goswami told IANS.
