Caldwell Doesn’t Budge, Keeps Lips Sealed On Levy Injury Details
The Chargers ran 30 times for 95 yards and two touchdowns in a 33-28 victory over the Lions in San Diego last week. Caldwell declined to answer questions on Levy, only saying the Lions expect him back soon. Levy is dealing with a hip muscle strain.

DeAndre Levy sat out of the open portion of practice Thursday, continuing a nasty cycle of injury reports with his name on them and rumors circling about why. DT Caraun Reid (ankle) and CB Darius Slay were limited in this week’s practices, Reid is listed as questionable and Slay is probable. “I think I mentioned this”.
Caldwell said Whitehead has a multiple role.
The Minnesota Vikings head into their Week 2 matchup against the Detroit Lions with two members of the squad listed on the injury report, RB Jerick McKinnon (ankle) and DT Shamar Stephen (knee) were both full participants in this week’s three practices and both are listed as probable for Sunday’s game. I dont address reports that dont come from us, Caldwell said in his press conference prior to practice.
He was offered another chance to deny it but again said that would break his policy of not commenting on reports and rumors. He was limited, according to the team’s injury report. “I haven’t seen too many coaches that give great detailed information in terms of accurate information on different issues that pop up with players”.
Joe Panos, Levy’s agent, said there is no truth to the parasite report. “The team believes it’s short-term”.
Brandon Pettigrew did not practice at all this week and has already been ruled out of Sunday’s game.
The Lions decided to keep Levy on their 53-man roster at the end of training camp rather than use the injured reserve-designated for return spot, because they believed Levy would return to the field in a matter of weeks.
