“Yep, first of three”, she tweeted. Who wouldn’t love to jam to “No Diggity” with these lovely ladies? But, naturally, Blige now uses Apple Music, where playlists are the new mixtapes.
The ad, called “Instant Boyfriend Mixtape Service”, was striking not just for its star power and its writing, but for who it targeted.
One, it was directed by Selma’s, Ava DuVernay, but it also shows three of some of Hollywood’s most powerful women dancing to some incredible hits, including Slick Rick.

After watching it, one very excited fan wrote: “I can’t stop watching the Apple Music commercial”. Henson getting down at the Emmys after-parties, if their Apple Music commercial is any indication. The premise is simple: they’re just three incredibly talented and successful friends hanging out at Blige’s manse, jammin’ to oldies. According to DuVernay, the next two will be released later this week.
