KP adds name to Pakistan Super League

“There is a clear communication gap between the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) and national selectors and Younis which is why we see the senior batsman keep on repeating he wants to play 50-overs cricket”, Akram said.

After Chris Gayle, the newly-launched Pakistan Super League (PSL) has notched up another star cricketer to boost its image.

“This snub has helped me in deciding where do I stand in terms of PSL and the decision is easy for me now”, Youins said.

“Absolutely buzzing to be a part of the Pakistani mela (event) coming up in February”.

According to a report in cricket.com.au, Pietersen, no stranger to the high-profile Indian Premier League, said he was keen to play.

Younus is the only Pakistan captain to have led the national team to its only World T20 title in 2009 in England before he retired from the format.

Speaking on the occasion, PSL Brand Ambassador and Pakistani legend Wasim Akram talked about the significance of the league.

“I’ve put my name down to be a part of it – fingers crossed, you never know what can happen”, Hodge told cricket.com.au.

“Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) should refrain from issuing unnecessary statements regarding Pakistan-India series”, he stressed.

The T20 Captain, Shahid Afridi also made a colourful entry.

Kevin Pietersen has signed up to play in next year’s Pakistan Super League.

However the ceremony did not feature greats like Younis, Javed Miandad or even Imran Khan.

Pietersen confirmed the same with a video message that was played during PSL launch in Lahore on Sunday.

“It looks it is going to be a wonderful competition”, Pietersen announced.

The PSL has confirmed to have signed some of cricket’s biggest T20 stars such as Chris Gayle, Kieron Pollard, Dwayne Bravo, Sunil Narine and Shakib Al-Hasan.
