Man returns $1300 hidden inside Domino’s delivery

A Berkeley, California, man returned a wad of cash accidentally delivered with his Domino’s order. Vegas ate one slice of pizza and didn’t bother to dig in to the wings right away, instead placing them in the fridge. The Domino’s employee (who had been placing frantic phone calls to Vegas) was planning to drive to the bank after one final delivery. Vegas said his first job was delivering pizza for Pizza Hut when he was just 16 years old, so he really felt for the driver.

Vegas debated whether to keep the money or return it, but after giving it some thought, he took the money back, and it looks like karma might be a real thing.

“My phone started blowing up and I wasn’t looking at the random messages”.

“I thought I was going to have the day off”, Vegas told the local news. He didn’t want the Domino’s delivery guy to get into trouble.

As ABC7 reports, Mike Vegas discovered $1,300 in cash in a box that should have contained chicken. “I knew what had happened”, he said.

He said: ‘I wrote a Facebook post and of course there’s a long list of people arguing you should keep it, you shouldn’t keep it, you should keep it, you shouldn’t keep it.

Domino’s Pizza general manager Zia Mumtaz told him live on air: “Just to thank you, we’re going to offer you free pizza for a whole year”. Nobody was fired, the money was returned and Vegas got free pizza for a year.
