New Australian Prime Minister Malcolm Turnbull Has a Rocky Start
“We anticipate that he will strongly condemn the racist activities and send a message to Australia that bigotry has no place in our society”, Mr Seyit said. “Having represented, since 2004, the electorate of Wentworth which has the largest Jewish community in New South Wales, Malcolm Turnbull has been a regular and welcome visitor and speaker at Jewish community functions, generous with his time and deeply supportive of all aspects of Jewish communal life”.

LABOR leader Bill Shorten has gone back more than 30 years to dismiss polls showing six out of 10 voters prefer Malcolm Turnbull as prime minister. The pro-Israel Abbott resigned after the vote.
FLYNN MP Ken O’Dowd is going to advocate for the same level of government support for rural areas under Mr Turnbull that had been displayed under Mr Abbott.
Liberal backbencher Dennis Jensen, who voted for Mr Turnbull in Monday’s leadership ballot, also anticipated a poll bounce. “I am very committed to that”.
Turnbull’s response, which hinged on the idea that conducting a 0 million non-binding national vote on a civil rights issue in more than a year’s time is somehow a noble exercise in democracy, was a pretty disappointing one for people who’d hoped that his Prime Ministership would clear the way for marriage equality. Labor leader Bill Shorten said a “drover’s dog” would have lifted the government’s stocks.
Julia Gillard as Prime Minister had been very engaged with New Zealand – “Kevin Rudd less so, to be blunt”. Mr Abbott was widely criticised for including only two women in his 19-member Cabinet – Foreign Minister Julie Bishop and Health Minister Sussan Ley.
“This type of crime, this sort of genocidal crime, is something that sadly is not unique in our experience”, Turnbull said.
“I don’t know exactly what it is apart perhaps from something in Canberra’s water, but it is an unusual turn of events for a large, developed country like Australia to have such a rapid change in Prime Ministers and no Prime Minister serving out their full parliamentary term”.

US President Barack Obama on Wednesday phoned Mr Abbott to commend his leadership in the fight against the so-called Islamic State group, local media reported.
