Former state senator’s son reportedly kills himself after murdering another man

Police say the man who killed himself on Interstate 95 after he fatally shot the boyfriend of his estranged wife at a Caroline County motel is the son of former state Senator Edd Houck. At every point on the 33-mile pursuit, there was a trooper or deputy on Houck’s tail, Lippa said, and all protocols were followed.

The arriving deputies from the Caroline County sheriff’s department saw Houck with a gun in his hand and immediately gave chase, pursuing the SUV from the hotel parking lot, through the town of Bowling Green and onto I-95, where state police joined the hunt, the Post reported.

WTVR says police are working with the abducted woman in the investigation.

An official from the Caroline County Sheriff’s Office and a Virginia State Police spokeswoman described the series of events, which left two people dead, at a news conference Tuesday. The unidentified woman was unharmed.

“It’s a tragedy to all the families and we’ve got more victims – the family members”, Lippa said. He was defeated in 2011 by Sen.

Geller said that the man, identified as Todd Houck, 36, of Spotsylvania died at the scene of the crash on I-95. “In view of our son’s long history of mental illness, it is our hope and wish that appropriate treatment can now begin”.

“The deputies and troopers were able to use their vehicles to bring the suspect to a stop near the 124 mile marker in Spotsylvania County”. He was arrested after a 12-hour standoff with police, which required the involvement of a SWAT team. They stemmed from an incident involving a 14-year-old girl. He pleaded guilty to lesser charges.
