An 18-year-old Palestinian woman on Tuesday morning attempted to stab IDF soldiers in Hebron as they stood by the Policeman’s Checkpoint that separates the Israeli and Palestinian sections of the city.

She later died from her injuries, the spokesperson confirmed. A family member said Hadeel al-Hashlamun, a 19-year-old student, was taken to an Israeli hospital where she was later declared dead.
Overnight in the village of Dura near Hebron, a Palestinian was killed by an explosive device he meant to toss at a military vehicle, an Israeli military spokeswoman said.
The death of an Israeli man in Jerusalem who lost control of his auto after it was hit by a rock thrown by rioting Palestinians earlier this month, has sparked new efforts to crack down on stone-throwers.
“What is happening is very risky “, Abbas said, calling on Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to “stop” the chaos at the flashpoint holy site, deemed holy by both Jews and Muslims and home to the al-Aqsa Mosque.
Tensions have been running high across the West Bank, including Israeli-annexed east Jerusalem, ahead of the Jewish Yom Kippur holiday which begins at sundown on Tuesday.
As a result of Israeli restrictions, Palestinians under the age of 40 have been denied access into the mosque compound, forcing Palestinians to perform Tuesday dawn prayer in the Old City’s streets.
The Security Council said that “Muslim worshippers at the Haram Al-Sharif (Temple Mount in Arabic) must be allowed to worship in peace, free from violence, threats and provocations”. It is part of an increasingly aggressive strategy aimed at an eventual takeover of the compound by Israeli groups intent on bringing down the mosque and even building a Jewish temple in its place.
Hammouri went on to explain that these groups adhere to an ideology laid out in the Talmud, which – as opposed to the Torah, the Jews’ traditional holy book – was compiled over the centuries by extremist Jewish rabbis.
A police raid on the eve of Rosh Hashanah, the Jewish New Year, unveiled a cache of pipe bombs, explosives and rocks authorities believed could be used at Jewish targets.
Palestinian protesters and Israeli police have clashed in riots outside the mosque regularly, with dozens injured.
In a new development, Israel has been restricting some Muslims from the compound when Jews visit.

The Palestinian Authority and Fatah are behind the spate of violence against Jews in Jerusalem, according to report by Palestinian Media Watch released on Sunday. Ahlam Jbara speaking for the Chicago Coalition for Justice in Palestine demanded that the crowd hold Israel, the USA and the United Nations accountable for these attacks continuing. These incursions in the compound while keeping Muslims out of it seems to be a Zionist ploy in seeking to change the rules governing the site.
