Nevada State Senator Backs Nick Diaz Over NSAC Suspension

It’s interesting Mayweather is even discussing drug tests conducted under the NAC’s watch considering he’s caught some heat for reportedly taking a banned IV after weighing in for May’s blockbuster boxing match against Manny Pacquiao. I think if I take a stand, it’s going to show something. Based off the widespread outcry regarding Diaz’s suspension, Cejudo likely has a ton of support right about now.

First up, Nevada State Senator Tick Segerblom threw his weight behind the cause when he labeled NSAC’s ruling, “totally inappropriate” in an interview with TMZ Sports. It’s what I am.

Diaz didn’t seem all that motivated to be a fighter during the last three years of his career, returning for one big fight each year to collect a huge paycheck before “retiring” after a loss in all three high-profile bouts. Diaz’s attorney Lucas Middlebrook said he will file a petition for judicial review in order to get his client’s case in front of an actual judge.

Without the ability to make a living fighting, Diaz is concerned about his financial future, but remains hopeful that he’ll be able to compete outside of Nevada.

In the mean time, Diaz will have to figure out how to conserve money and pay for his legal fees.

“I’m just trying to make ends meet”, he said.

And now, unless the appeal from Diaz’ lawyer Lucas Middlebrook is approved, the Stockton Bad Boy is going to have plenty of time to smoke his weed and enjoy life whether he likes it or not. The UFC also has never gone against a suspension by the NAC.
