Jenna Coleman ’emotional’ about Doctor Who exit
Coleman has starred on Doctor Who for the past three years, first joining the series in 2012 alongside former Doctor Matt Smith. Though most dismissed those at the time, it has now been confirmed that she’s leaving. Her departure was rumored earlier in the week, but Coleman confirmed the news on BBC Radio 1’s Breakfast Show this morning, saying, “I have left the TARDIS…I have filmed my last scenes”. No further information was given as to how this would come about, though Coleman did explain that the writers had “worked out a really good story arc” for the exit.

The new season premiere sees Missy team up with the Doctor’s companion, Clara (Jenna Coleman) after the Doctor (Peter Capaldi) goes missing when the world needs him most. When the actor took over the role, many were concerned with the direction the show would take since he was so different from the previous incarnations of the Doctor.
Coleman’s announcement comes just a day before the September 19 premiere of Doctor Who season 9.
CAPALDI: I think they’re very bonded. The actress will star as Queen Victoria in an eight-part drama series about the monarch and her relationship with eventual long-time husband Prince Albert.
However, Missy has already survived death a few times , and Jenna Coleman recently announced her departure from the series – but not until the end of the season. It’s so much fun, I love it. It’s such a unique beast.
Jenna Coleman was rumored to leave the show after last season’s Christmas Special, but she ended up changing her mind and coming back for Doctor Who Season 9.
“[Queen Victoria] is a vivid, strong, inspirational and utterly fascinating woman in British history and I can’t wait to tell her story”, related Coleman.
Jenna, who is dating Game Of Thrones hunk Richard Madden, says: “I am delighted to be cast as Queen Victoria in this ambitious drama of her life”.

This made the stakes higher and the threat much bigger, one that Clara and the Doctor might not be able to get out of in one piece.
