Ryan Gosling Investigates Big Banks in The Big Short Trailer
The first trailer has arrived for “The Big Short”, a star-studded drama based on Michael Lewis’ 2010 nonfiction bestseller. Even better, they released a trailer that flaunts the film’s all-star cast-Christian Bale, Ryan Gosling, Steve Carrell, Brad Pitt-and the crucial elements (underdog geniuses, back-room plotting, strippers-turned-real-estate-investors) of a potential heist-meets-Wall-Street classic. Marisa Tomei, Selena Gomez, and Karen Gillan co-star.

Michael Lewis’ chronicled this ragtag team’s financial misadventures in his acclaimed non-fiction book The Big Short: Inside the Doomsday Machine, and now Anchorman director Adam McKay is bringing the story to screen.

Paramount has separately slotted for December 30 limited release the Charlie Kaufman/Duke Johnson-directed stop motion animation film Anomalisa, which the studio acquired about a week ago at the Toronto Film Festival.

Their idea, The Big Short, leads them into the dark underbelly of modern banking as they rush to cash in on the coming catastrophe. McKay collaborated with Charles Randolph to adapt Lewis’ book for the script. A wide theatrical release date has been set for December . 23.
