ESPN’s popular College GameDay show is headed to Tucson this week as Pac-12 races heat up in a hurry.

Arizona is unveiling new red chrome helmets.

No need to hide it: This is going to huge.

“Whether I want to preach it or not, it’s going to be there”. This coming weekend will tell us a lot about the division as a whole. It’s conference play in the same division against a highly-rated, undefeated team.

The Pac-12 Network will televise five home games and seven road contests.

This ranking is more art than science. But then came the questions about the treatment. Was it close? Was it memorable?

“We played terrible – it was them and us”, Rodriguez said. Oti Gildon and Lauren Yearwood are among the new faces to join the team expected to contend in 2015. Record: 2-1. National ranking: No. 13.

UA didn’t have much hope.

That the Bruins won was important; how the Bruins won, however, is more vital still. The All-American linebacker is still recovering from a knee injury that he suffered in the Wildcats’ opener against UTSA. Barrett threw a touchdown pass and an interception. Record: 3-0. National ranking: No. 18. Utah was previously No. 21 in both polls. “This guy is an explosive player and one of the fastest guys on the team, and he’s a quarterback”. This time, however, he stopped, dropped back and hit a wide-open Danny Farmer for a 64-yard touchdown. “We got to try and find a way to get Jerrard in the game”. In 2012, the Bruins rolled 66-10, the most points UCLA had scored since 1997.

Steven Mitchell Jr. caught two touchdown passes and JuJu Smith-Schuster caught another, but preseason Pac-12 favorite USC failed its first test of the season after beating two Sun Belt opponents by a combined 99 points earlier this month.

Stanford 2-1 1-0 (#3 last week) The Cardinal silenced a lot of doubters and got the jump on the Bears in the North with their impressive offensive win at USC. The offense is explosive but needs more big plays after generating just 10 plays of 20 yards or more through the first three games.

The premature celebration led to the construction of a restraining wall in front of the Arizona student section. “As the season goes along, until Trey Griffey comes back and Tyrell Johnson comes back, he’s going to have a role there”. Arizona fans poured out of the stands in the final minute, anticipating victory, but Oregon converted a fourth-and-4 and tied the game with six seconds to go. The Trojans lost one game that season. They wrap up the trip at UCLA at 7 p.m. on January 4.

Arizona’s defense dominated (and punter Josh Miller was a hero for pinning Washington deep all day). The Wildcats’ 792 yards eclipsed the mark of 787 set against UNLV last season. BYU, an FBS independent, has games scheduled against Utah, Arizona, UCLA, Cal, Washington, Washington State, Arizona State, USC and Stanford through the 2020 season. However, will the defense take a step forward in Pac-12 games? Quarterback Kevin Hogan completed 18 of 23 passes for 279 yards and two scores, while the ground attack averaged four yards per carry behind Christian McCaffrey.

Since Mora took over, he is 3-0 against the Wildcats.

“We’ve had some times when we’ve gotten into games like that with teams similar in structure to a BYU and have not come out with a win”.

Let’s check out the scores for UCLA at Arizona and last several years… Arizona would win those final two games to finish 5-2 in the league. Stopping Tanner Mangum on a last-minute drive is not easily done, but the Bruins’ defense – showing far more heart than the defense across the way in L.A., inside the Coliseum against Stanford – found the intestinal fortitude championship teams manage to display in the midst of man-making motivational moments.
