Peter Dinklage Rocked a Man Bun at Emmys 2015

HBO’s Game of Thrones was the belle of the Emmy ball a d their 12 statues sets the record for most wins by any show in one year.

The big night came as HBO has been working to establish itself as the industry’s leading TV service amid a fast-changing and fragmented media landscape.

That point was brought home in Hollywood this morning, as the city woke up with an Emmy-sized hangover, with news that around 11.9 million people watched the 67th annual prime-time Emmy Awards. As with every year, the awards show featured no shortage of memorable moments.

“It’s very odd being up there having to think of something to say and I didn’t write anything down”, the 44-year-old actor admitted.

Peter Dinklage, who plays one of the drama’s most popular characters Tyrion Lannister, earned an Emmy for Outstanding Supporting Actor.

“Not to repeat myself, but to specifically repeat myself, I’d like to dedicate my performane and this award to the transgender community”, Tambor emphasized.

“It’s incredible and impossible for me personally to be standing here so I want to thank the people I owe an incredible debt, families who have chosen for some reason to take me in and be nice to me”.

Emmys voters didn’t give up their fondness for choosing the familiar over the groundbreaking.

“Veep” star Julia Louis-Dreyfus has her own winning streak going: it was her fourth straight win as best comic actress.

Veep also clinched the comedy writing statuette for British writers Simon Blackwell, Amando Iannucci, Tony Roche.

Even Samberg got in on the fun, tracking down Martin in the audience and saying, “Thanks for telling me during the commercial that Jon Snow is alive”. The producers thanked HBO for believing in dragons.

Ricky Gervais was nominated for Channel 4′s Derek as outstanding lead actor in a mini-series or movie, but also went home empty-handed.

The previous record holder was The West Wing which won nine awards in 2000.

Samberg kicked off the ceremony with a video in which he made elaborate fun of the overload of TV programs available. Nowhere in the telecast was that more evident than when the show ran an “In Memoriam”-type tribute montage to series that ended their run in 2015″.
