UFC President Dana White has confirmed that The Notorious will be allowed defend his UFC featherweight title at Croke Park, IF he beats Jose Aldo in the unification bout for the title in December in Las Vegas.

The rivalry between Jose Aldo and Conor McGregor has become one of the UFC’s most compelling storylines, and Aldo’s coach, Andre Pederneiras, is doing his part to ramp up the rhetoric before the highly anticipated December . 2 showdown at UFC 194.

“It’s all talk until it happens man. He talks well, he’s doing a great job for his weight class. I mean, there would be no big money fights in featherweight, besides… that’s why I was gonna move down there”. Good for him doing that, but lightweight is a whole different place.

Over 800,000 fans watched McGregor TKO Mendes on pay-per-view, while his previous fight with Dennis Siver was the most watched UFC event ever on FOX Sports 1, notching up an average of nearly three million viewers, making McGregor one of the UFC’s top two draws alongside Ronda Rousey.

Conor McGregor took in a spot of partying last night at The Wright Venue in Dublin. “I mean, featherweight has always been an option”.

McGregor landed back on Irish soil with his gold world title belt at the beginning of September, and was met by hoards of fans in Dublin Airport, eager to congratulate him on his recent win. If I knew what was going to happen, I’d be Vince McMahon. So for me, the goal right now is getting my belt back.

“The only fighter who I remember provoking Aldo was Manvel Gamburyan, who spent the fight week trying to intimidate him (in the defunct WEC, in 2010)”, Pederneiras recalled.
