Howard Serena now sings this song to his life-long love while she is in hospice care.

Howard, 92, from Sarasota in Florida, sang “You’ll Never Know” to Laura, 93, as she lay in her hospice bed in a touching video recorded by their granddaughter, Erin Solari.

Laura and Howard have been married for 73 years, and their love today is as strong as ever.

Howard struggles to stand and hear, and Laura has macular degeneration, making it hard to see, but it “doesn’t stop her from looking deep into her love’s eyes”, Solari wrote on YouTube. She said at family gatherings, it was not uncommon for them to sing this song together, each taking a verse and serenading each other.

Erin went on to write that ‘after fifty years of marriage, they renewed their vows and performed this song as a duet for the entire family at the reception’.

“This video is pretty awesome because she’s nearly completely blind and he’s fairly deaf, so it’s hard for them to communicate”, Solari said.

In the description of the video uploaded to YouTube Erin talks about her grandparents.

The emotional video has been viewed more than 3.4 million times. “Howard then takes over for her and sings the rest of the song to her while stroking her face”.
