This 100-Year-Old Track Runner Just Shattered 5 Olympic World Records
His first throw in the shot put instantly set a record – landing at 21ft, 6in, it beat the previous mark by three feet.

Don Pellmann is like no other 100-year-old before him, athletically speaking.

Each of Pellmann’s three discus throws bettered the preceding toss.
Maybe he’ll finally set that pole vault record at No. 128.
And yet the 5-11, 175-pound Pellmann, who maintains an enviable level of fitness for any age, was still focused on what he didn’t achieve.

Don Pellmann set records in the high jump, the long jump, 100-meter dash, shot put and discus during an awe-inspiring performance that lasted almost five hours at the San Diego Senior Olympics, the Times of San Diego reported.
“Pole vault I didn’t do well on because I hadn’t had any practice”. I was not anxious about medals but I’ve got more medals than I know what to do with.
In 2005, Pellmann also set seven age-group records at a two-day meet in Colorado at age 90.
His “clodhopper” tennies were legally modified: He had cut out a hole to make room for a bothersome bunion. “But I’m glad I got the 100 record – that’s the one I wanted the most”. The centenarian’s first throw set a world record.
Pellamn became the first person over 100 to clear a mark in the high jump.
The high jump reportedly had to be delayed because the official setting up the event was overcome by heatstroke.

This is not the most world record-breaking medals Pellmann has gone home with in a single meet, he said. He turned 100 in August, and hadn’t competed in two years.
