New Mobile Devices, Streamer On Way From Google?

Google is working with South Korean manufacturer LG and Chinese manufacturer Huawei to make its next line of Nexus devices a reality.

Announced alongside the debut of Google’s latest OS, Android Marshmallow, the 5X and 6P will have different storage options – 32GB and 64GB. The regular price of the device is $99.

Initially launched in 2013, the Nexus 5 was updated earlier this year, but retained the same name, leading to potential customer confusion. That makes the 5X slightly more expensive, but still competitive in terms of other top-tier smartphones. The same rumor suggested that Huawei’s 5.7-inch Nexus would be dubbed the Nexus 6P.

LG, who has previously worked on entries to the Nexus range, is reportedly working on the Nexus 5X.

The three storage variants of the Huawei Nexus 6P is said to cost $50 to $100 more at each increment.

It’s not over yetAfter Google’s event, Microsoft will step up to the plate to take a swing at some product unveilings.

Sources have hinted that Google is planning to introduce the Nexus 5 and Nexus 6 smartphones at the next week’s event.

Out of the two Nexus smartphones, the Huawei-made one seems to be higher-end model (if we are to trust the rumor mill).

Generally Google’s Nexus devices deliver on function over form. With 128 GB in tow, it’s hard to imagine the device having the need for micro-SD expansion support.

Also coming to both Google handsets are a fingerprint scanner and a USB Type-C port – innovations which both made an appearance on the OnePlus Two. Moreover, it is rumored to be the first Nexus smartphone to offer a 128GB internal storage. And while its processor has been predicted to be either a Snapdragon 820 or 810, the general consensus is leaning on the latter.

In the previous year, the Nexus Player was revealed on the same day when Google unleashed the Motorola Nexus 6 phablet and the HTC Nexus 9 tablet.
