Meizu PRO 5 price, specifications and release date are made official

When a company puts the “PRO” moniker onto a device, there’s usually a good reason for it. Occasionally, it’s just used as a buzz word, but that’s not the case with the Meizu PRO 5 specs. The smartphone has Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, A-GPS and a USB Type-C connector. “The Pro 5 will have a 5.7” 1080p display, curved 2.5D glass, and a Samsung Exynos 7420 processor powering it all. Meizu has also included mCharge 2.0 here, so you’ll be able to fast charge this phone as well, and there are also two SIM slots available here.

The company has promised that the Meizu Pro 5 will be getting “VIP services” including M Support – a remote support system, which will mean that Meizu experts can go through the phone like TeamViewer.

The current Meizu logo has been there for 12 years, and now that the company has chose to rebuild it, they have explained it in a video (the video is not working right now, but we have managed screenshots of complete video; see at the bottom).

Alongside the Pro 5, Meizu also introduced a brand new pair of in-ear headphones, the EP31, sold separately for 199 yuan (approx Rs 2,100). The rear camera sensor has PDAF phase focusing and laser-assisted focusing technologies. Unlike the MX5, the new smartphone has Samsung’s Exynos 7420 chipset that comes with an octa-core CPU and Mali-T760 GPU.

Meizu has pre-installed Android 5.1 Lollipop with Flyme 5 on top on the new device. Carefully tailored LARGAN 6P lenses greatly improve resolution. That retail value applies to the 32GB model which comes with 3GB worth of RAM.

A few screenshots with the battery usage stats of Meizu Pro 5 was posted by Li Nan on its official Weibo account. The 3,050mAh battery will also be a part of this package, and you’ll also be able to take advantage of the phone’s built-in fingerprint scanner which is located below the display (mBack physical button).
