China Fake Apple stores reported of selling original iPhone 6S

Most of the stores in the roughly 1 km shopping corridor are unauthorised “fakes” – although they are selling genuine Apple products – and their numbers have mushroomed ahead of the release on Friday of the iPhone 6S and iPhone 6s Plus. Some Chinese consumers, such as 22-year-old Zheng Zhuangjian who works as a wholesaler of Apple products and is using an iPhone 6, said they would not buy counterfeits. They’re ideal for consumers who can’t think of paying hundreds for the latest iPhone. However, the fake iPhone 6s is reported to run slower, and photos even appear fuzzy on its screen. No other model of the iPhone has had its prices plummeted in such a manner over the past years. The firm’s data begins two weeks prior to each iPhone’s unveiling and compares those volumes and prices to two weeks after each new iPhone is announced.

Look at the back of your iPhone 6 to locate the phone’s electronic serial number, also known as the IMEI (international mobile equipment station identity). The iPhone 6S and 6S Plus incorporate 3D Touch, which recognizes different levels of pressure on the touchscreen. A new report from Reuters (via The Loop) said that such stores are flourishing, so much so that secondary businesses have sprung up to supply the fake stores with shirts, signage, and the accouterments needed to make the fakes look real.

Having a successful iPhone launch is vital for Apple. “It would be tough to do the Apple business this year”, she said.

These guys must be really excited to get pink iPhones. The iPhone 6S has a high bar to clear for success.

Apple’s devices have retained their value though.

Both 6S models will be available in Australia, Canada, France, Germany, Hong Kong, Japan, New Zealand, Puerto Rico, Singapore, the United Kingdom and the U.S. on Friday.

The prevalence of fake Apple stores could be partly attributed to the inadequacy of official retail stores in China, where Apple only has 22 official stores for the whole country as of this third quarter.

Eight years after Apple launched the first iPhone, many people who line up days in advance for the device aren’t there because they’re fans, experts say. Other countries, like Vietnam will not. “Face is very important for many people”, Li said.
