Jacksonville Jaguars’ Peyton Thompson Takes Advantage of Opportunity
It feels good to say that we got a win. Picking up the slack is linebacker Telvin Smith, who leads the team in tackles and helped preserve the win against Miami with a blocked pass late in the game. There are still some question marks on the team, but I believe those questions will be answered quickly.

What do the Dolphins need to do to keep their offense on schedule?
Jared Odrick is an occasional liar.
Odrick’s strong play in that series was typical of the way the Jaguars played on Sunday. He completed less than 55 percent in his first two games this season, but on the positive side, he’s already thrown three touchdowns with only two interceptions. Both have put up some lofty numbers against the Jaguars over the years.
Tannehill completed 30 of 43 passes for 359 yards and two scores.
Last week, when I wrote on how PFF graded Zane Beadles as the best player on the Jaguars offense and I appreciated their grades. “We didn’t flinch at all on that”, Jaguars coach Gus Bradley said.
When I watched the offensive line, all I saw were good things. Miami allowed Jacksonville to march 82 yards on 10 plays on the Jaguars’ opening possession, capped by a 3-yard touchdown pass from Blake Bortles to Allen Robinson. In 2014, Gronkowski got a sizable measure of revenge when he blocked him into a camera well on a play in a Sunday night game in Indy, later saying that the 6-foot-2, 207-pounder was yapping so much he had to “throw him out of the club”. “We just didn’t make enough plays out there”. This is the type of passing attack the Jaguars must have in order to make the running game effective.
The nature of Robinson’s injury hasn’t yet been revealed by the Jaguars.
Norman provided the game changer early in the third period when he stepped in front of a pass intended for running back T.J.
Robinson’s performance was big for the Jaguars (1-1), who avoided their fourth consecutive 0-2 start.
The second-year signal-caller out of Central Florida wasn’t overwhelming against the Dolphins – and he got a gift in the form of a stupid penalty in the final moments of the game from Miami’s Olivier Vernon – but he put together what was likely the finest sixty minutes of his career. Quarterback Ryan Tannehill was the leading rusher with 17 of those yards. Place-kicker Jason Myers bounced back after a subpar effort in the opener to convert all three field-goal attempts, including a 58-yard effort and a pressure-packed 28-yard kick for the game-winner with 40 seconds left in the game.

The Miami Dolphins came away with a disappointing loss to the Jacksonville Jaguars on Sunday, a game that could be defined as ugly throughout most of the afternoon. The players responded to their coach’s challenge of playing better and overcoming adversity during the game.
