WJZ A man was killed in a confrontation with a Baltimore County police officer after he showed a fake prescription at a pharmacy and fled the scene, police said.
Authorities said the officer shot a man outside the Nature Care Pharmacy on Main Street just before 5 p.m. Police said the video showed the man reaching around his back as if reaching for a weapon and pointing his hand at the officer. “This is a narcotic cough syrup, often combined with alcohol to produce a “high”. The officer caught up with him and fired multiple shots during a “confrontation” in the parking lot in front of Word of Life worldwide Church, Baltimore County police spokeswoman Elise Armacost told The Baltimore Sunday. Thursday’s statement said: “A weapon was not found”. Gray suffered a broken neck and six officers have been charged over his death.
The suspect was declared dead at the Northwest Hospital after being shot three times by the officer. Police said his identity had been confirmed and would be released after his family were notified.
