“The divorce was mutual”, Close’s rep told E!

On Wednesday, it was revealed that Glenn Close has joined the long list of celebrities who’ve called it quits on their marriages this summer.

But the union is now over, as a representative for the actress confirmed to Page Six the pair “are divorced”.

A separate insider told the publication: “Glenn and David have been telling friends over the summer they are divorcing, and he’ll remain living in Maine while Glenn moves back to New York full-time”.

Close was previously married to singer and songwriter Cabot Wade and businessman James Marlas.

“He’s one of the most creative people I’ve ever met”, Close said of the biotech entrepreneur. It was announced Tuesday that she will return to the stage next year, reprising the role of Norma Desmond in Sunset Boulevard in the London revival of the stage musical in April. She was also linked to Broadway actor Len Cariou, producer John Starke, with whom she shares a daughter, and carpenter Steve Beers. “Men blossom under the nurturing of a good woman, while women don’t often get that benefit from a man”.

Glenn, who also voiced Mona Simpson in The Simpsons, is said to be moving back to New York having lived in Maine with David since they married. “Men and women are so vastly different…” Not a bad idea’.

Though, we have a feeling Miz Close is going to be just fine.
