Ridley Scott has plans for three more Prometheus movies

“Actually, it’s going to be called Alien: Paradise Lost, so Prometheus 2 isn’t what it’s really going to be”. The Greek god Prometheus was the creator and benefactor of mankind—hes the one who gave us fire—and the film that bears his name is essentially a search for God, for those beings that created the human race.

According to the verge.com, the sequel to “Prometheus” has been confirmed to have leading actors Noomi Repace and Michael Fassbender to reprise their roles.

Not only is Scott planning to do a “Prometheus 3” and “Prometheus 4“, but the director also admitted that the franchise’s connection to “Alien” will be addressed in the third or fourth sequel.

“The whole point is to explain the “Alien” franchise and how and why the creation of the aliens”, Scott said in the interview with Film Futter (which we’ve translated back into English).

When it comes to film franchises, the noble Roman numeral used to be all you needed to denote a follow-up to a popular film. Fans and moviegoers will have to check out how “Prometheus 2” will turn out compared to its predecessor. “I always saw the Alien as a type of biological warfare”, Screen Crush quotes Scott’s statement to FilmFutter.

Just as Milton’s Paradise Lost deals with the beginnings of humankind, so will Scott’s Alien: Paradise Lost, in its own way.

The next project on Ridley Scott’s plate – after the Matt Damon-starrer The Martian, which premieres on October 2 – will be Prometheus 2.

“For me, the original spaceship, which I call the croissant, is a warship containing these biomechanoid creatures, which are all about destruction”.

Young Shaw: How do you know it’s lovely?

“‘Cause that’s what I choose to believe”.

Do you think there should be multiple Prometheus sequels? “You’ve got to go back and find those engineers and see what they are thinking”.
